John, our servers are connected to 100 Mbps lines. Upload/Download speed depends on our network as well your connection. You may open a support ticket with details of your issue so that we can assist you further.

Forum member VinDSL created a bandwidth meter for his site. Assuming you are hosted in the same data center that he's in, you can use that to get an estimate of what kind of speeds to expect:

    Hi djbitzc,

Feel free to open a ticket with our customer service department and we can look into seeing if 1000mbit connectivity is available on one of our VZ servers.
I do work for JaguarPC. If you do need help please provide your ticket number (this isn't sensitive information).

If I'm not active on the forum please open a ticket instead of PMing me. If you think the issue requires access to your server please open a ticket.

Well it appears he is on KRAKEN which is in TX and NeOTrace is mapping the path the same.

    I was getting 14.15 Mbps.

If you were to run multiple simultaneous tests you'd likely max out your FiOS connection before you max out the server.

The issue for you (assuming your fios is provisioned for more than 14mbps) is one of I/O latency-- the amount of time the packets take to traverse the net. Not much can be done about that issue, and increasing the port speed on your VPS won't change anything. IMHO

    Try speedtest.speakeasy.net

PS I'm also on FiOS with a 20/5 package.
    Good luck

I'm doing if more for my photo collections. I'm more concerned about the upload/download speed so I'm not sitting around all day uploading them.

A test to NYC got me
    Last Result:
Download Speed: 25999 kbps (3249.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 13227 kbps (1653.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

    ATL is about the same

    Dallas got me
    Last Result:
Download Speed: 19638 kbps (2454.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 14560 kbps (1820 KB/sec transfer rate)

    Thanks
