VPS and Host Name

Hello,

I've had several, as in 7, support tickets in about this issue and I keep being told that they "can't find any issues".

So I'm going out to the public for some assistance.

I've changed my host name via WHM successfully. But as soon as midnight hits it gets reverted back to the host name that JPC set it up with.

A tech support person has changed it for me via CLI successfully also and said "it was changed". But, of course, as soon as it hit midnight it reverted back to he setup host name.

Does JPC not allow the host name on a VPS to be changed?

Sure you can change your VPS hostname. Please let us know the ticket ID so that we could check the history of the issue. We will keep your server under observation after the changing the hostname and if the changes do revert at midnight we will further troubleshoot it to a permanent solution.

I changed my hostname in WHM also and messed some things up. I opened a support ticket and was told that all hostname changes should be made by Jaguar tech support not through WHM. Something to do with way VPS's are setup. Although mine didn't keep reverting back at midnight.

I would recommend changing hostname through tech support so that techs can adjust billing and other related records as well for your server to avoid any problem in the future.

be wise when changing hostname, tech support might get confuse when you change that configuration if something happen with your vps
