why cancel my vps, isnt due yet..

    Hi,

I have a good time with you guys support + billing staff etc..

I found a dedicated server and i opened a ticket for cancellation, i wish to cancel it on 16 April, since there is no respond for that, i have paid another month with paypal.

Your invoice (40367844) for $27.47 has been processed successfully.

    Paypal Transaction ID: 5EY81795X21242508

    -------------------------------------

    Payment for invoice 40367844

    has been processed successfully.

And also i opened a ticket for request cancellation before 16 MAY 2010, i was surprise my account was canceled immediately by this morning.

I have many files inside the VPS havent copied to my new dedicated server, Please restore the VPS so that i can copied it, those files was valuable for me, i have paid and spend countless money for programmer to do it, please understand how important is it.

I'm not requesting refund, i'm requesting for the file.

    please check: #13117373

    Thanks

    Boon

Your subject heading is a bit misleading, when you asked for your VPS to be canceled and also asked for it to be done
    before 16 MAY 2010
    .

    Hi boon,

We are sorry for the inconvenience. I have started the restore of your VPS. I'll update Customer Service department about this to activate your account again so that you can access your account and server. You will probably get an update in Ticket# 13117373 regarding this.

    Boon,

A word of advise: do yourself a favor and download a copy of your site to your computer somewhere. Then, as you make changes to your site, keep it updated so that you always have an up-to-date backup. Relying on someone else to do that for you that is like playing Russian Roulette. Hard drives fail and backups aren't always 100% reliable. You've also now seen that human error can also cause problems.

Today you lucked out in that you caught the problem while JPC still had a backup of your site. Since I doubt they keep more than a couple days worth of backups, you'd probably have been SOL if you noticed this issue later in the week.

JPC puts a lot of time and money into their backup process, and the results are usually very good, but no backup system is infallible. If you keep a local copy of your site, you'll always have peace of mind that you've got it and that, should something catastrophic occur, you won't lose anything. Redundancy is your friend.

    Just my two cents.

    Hi boon,

You should have noticed when you submitted the cancellation request that it takes effect immediately after it was submitted.

Did you not see this notice?
I do work for JaguarPC. If you do need help please provide your ticket number (this isn't sensitive information).

If I'm not active on the forum please open a ticket instead of PMing me. If you think the issue requires access to your server please open a ticket.

On the cancellation form, it states in two places that the account will be canceled and the account terminated from our servers upon processing of the cancellation form.

In your request to cancel there was no mention of wanting it canceled on a future date. We received the cancellation request May 1st, and it was processed on May 7th.

Do you have a ticket number for your April 16th request? I was unable to locate any request prior to May 1st for a cancellation.
