Sirius (the host of my VPS and it looks like a couple of other servers on May 14th) took a drive hit which brought my VPS (yet again as well as many others) down.
I never got a solid answer to how a "power issue" could cause the last rash of outages which hit Sirius (and others) even though the sales sheet for VPS touts a lot about redundant power:
•Dual underground feeds into dual transformers
•Generators, 24hr capacity, refueling contracts
•Instantly available, continuous power
But, thats the past, and I'm sure will be the present again soon enough. Hopefully I can get a straight answer on this one as it seems easy enough to answer:
What is the raid configuration of Sirius and other VPS hosts like it and what is JaguarPC's plan to ensure a single drive failure doesn't bring a virtual host to it's knees anymore?
