    Hi,

We have just received the new server. Currently we are installing Virtuozzo on new machine. Once it is configured, we will proceed with data restore from backup serve to new machine. We request you to keep an eye on below forum thread for latest updates.

Can't spot the lie. The plan was posted in the forum. In your ticket today, you got an update on how far along they were at that time. Seems perfectly normal to me. And really not bad to have new hardware assembled, tested, on site, plugged in, and OS installed in about 18 hours, through the night.

Given the number of these machines JagPC has up and the frustration these situations cause, I do wonder if it's about time for a hot spare though. I.e. at all times, keep one new machine in the racks, OS installed and all ready to replace a failing server. Resist the pull to use it as a new server and fill it with new clients until the next machine is up and running and has taken over the "hot spare" function. It seems it would shave about 18 hours off the restore time when a machine goes belly up.

EWS_hosting, No one is lying here and although we understand your frustration but there is No point in blaming support of lying.

The update about new server setup was given by Zishan initially when we decided that the chances of getting existing server are low and we should be setting up a new server ready and restore vpss on it , while we attempt to fix the problems with existing server.
Then getting the hardware ready, then Windows Server OS installation and then Virtouzzo installation/setup takes some time, and Awais update is from the time when all hardware related and Windows related setup was completed and he was setting up Virotuzzo on the server.

We do have some similar arrangements for Linux servers and setup time are quicker for them, or in extreme situations we can setup virtual servers on some of emergency nodes.

For Windows Virtouzzo nodes, the restores do not work easily, that is the virtouzzo version and windows version should ideally match for any restores to be successful, and with current amount of Windows Virtouzzo nodes its not practically possible to keep a hot spare of each combination type, atleast at this time.

Thanks for the info. Hadn't thought of Windows, let alone versions that have to line up. (Personally don't get what business Windows has on a server ). Anway, I suppose it helps to have the hardware setup and ready to roll, even if you have to (re)install the OS.
