Is it possible to order a new VPS but give it a subdomain name? for example "server1.domain.com" and "server2.domain.com".

If yes, then the "domain.com" which is hosted on another VPS, does it need DNS modifications to make the subdomain "server1" point to the new server?

Yes, it is possible to order "server1.domain.com" and "server2.domain.com". We do not control DNS services of our VPS clients, so no automatic records will be created. You need to create an 'A' record for server1 and server2 on the VPS hosting DNS for domain.com. Support will do this for you upon opening a ticket.

That's great, thank you very much!

My plan is to split a VPS server into two VPS servers. So once I order the new VPS, I'll need to move half of my cPanel domains from the old server to the new. Is this possible? Can support help me with that? (the domains use their own IP addresses, so those need to be moved as well to the new server).

Cpanel did have a nice import export function, I have not used it in a few years (currently using interworx) but it should be simple to move the accounts, but I am sure JPC will assit as well, if asked

Yes support can move the accounts for you to your new VPS/Server. For the IPs, it depends on the network setup on the new node and depending on that it may or may not be possible to move the IPs, newer nodes have different IP network setup at backend.

hmm changing IP addresses could be a major problem for us. If we can't keep them, we won't move anything then.

What if I explicitly ask support to setup a new VPS on the same data center (same rack?) as my current VPS? they take that into consideration and make it possible to move IP addresses to the new VPS?

Yes this should be possible and can be done.

It took the forum 35 seconds to store that last post.

EDIT: Only 15 seconds to store this one!
