RDNS set when a dedicated account is opened.

    Hello Jag Guys,

I have a suggestion. Mail servers look at the rDNS of the IP that is sending out email. When a dedicated server account is opened it would help reduce abuse complaints if you automatically assigned a rDNS to each IP address that is issued to the server pointing back to the server's hostname.

Just a thought that would reduce the time consumed relaying abuse issues to us your clients. A rDNS that goes to the server's hostname might send some of the complaints straight to the server's operator as well as cutting down on the abuse complaints that are purely due to mismatched rDNS records.

    Hi redfish,

Thank you for your suggestion. Setting up rDNS at the time of setup is what we practice here. We are sorry if it wasn't setup for your server at that time.

I think maybe something broke, Bilal? The rDNS for my reseller server (manticore) just went missing too. It had been in place since I had the rDNS issue on 8/28/2008 (it was set up in response to my ticket # 12730402 ) I have already opened ticket (# 13244614 ) for this issue tonight.
