Mailman - Missing Digests

On our VPS we host a high volume mail list. For the last few weeks we have been experiencing certain digest volumes that don't get created/sent out. This is evident by gaps in the digest volume and issue numbers. I have been unable to find much helpful information @ the mailman forum/usergroup.

I'm kind of at a loss on how to trouble shoot this issue. Does anyone have any ideas on where I might start? I have looked through my smtp logs for mailman and that seems to confirm that certain volumes are not being sent out.
