To access cpanel, first you have to create an account from WHM >> Account Functions >> Create a New Account. Then you can access cpanel using the following url.

    http://x.x.x.x:2082

    or

    https://x.x.x.x.x: 2083

Replace x.x.x.x with IP of your vps.

Once you point the domain to your vps, you can access it using http://domain.com/cpanel

Replace domain.com with domain name of your account.

NEVER EVER EVER USE 2082 ever under any circumstances. NEVER!!

It passes your website's password around in the clear!!

Sites are hacked all the time because of this. ALWAYS USE THE SECURE HTTPS:// PROTOCOLS

and ports for CPanel at 2083 and WHM at 2087 and webmail at 2096
    Good luck

I just used 2082 to log in. Why this can not be used? What people can do on that?

    2083 not a trusted connection?

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for the tip on using 2083. When I tried it I got the following in Firefox:
    This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.xxxxxxxx:2083, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
Any ideas on how to proceed with this?

    Don

I don't know if you're missing a certificate or your browser doesn't recognize the certificate. If it's the latter, you can just accept the certificate. I'd raise the issue with support.
    Good luck

When using secure ports on WHM, cPanel or webmail, you have to use the shared SSL certificate hostname. If you use your own domain name, then you'll get SSL warning, and you can accept it and continue. The way to do is depends on the browser.

Thanks Ron - did check with support and got the guidance needed.

Thanks also to Masood: can you provide an example URL that would access cPanel through the shared SSL certificate hostname?

For example if server has shared SSL certificate server.nocdirect.com then the cPanel over SSL will be https://server.nocdirect.com:2083/

It will probably be OK. Just from now on use the secure ports; you don't want to give anyone an opportunity to steal your CPanel password.
    Good luck
