    Angry DNS not working

    Anyone else seeing DNS issues and connectivity issues?

    I opened a ticket with Support and was told (and this is a quote):
    I am escalating your ticket to a higher level technician to assist you better with this issue. Please keep in mind that due to the ticket volumes, your ticket may not be answered right away. Thank you for your patience.
    which to me just mean "canned response 101" with excuse "101". It is like the support folks thing that because the made their initial response with in 30 minutes, that it is OK to then not respond for hours and thus they have meet their LOS (level of service) with their initial response.

    Anyone know that LOS they strive to achieve?

    Needless to say, I sit and wait for a response, but have lowered my expectations and plan to loose the customer I was on the phone with when this problem started, sigh

    And I have no patience, it was gone a long time ago

    I am not having any issues with DNS right now.

    If you've tried, are you also seeing it take a really long time to login to SSH?

    If so, they will probably need to restart "named" for you.

    You could ask them just to restart named for you in level one. That's a fairly non-destructive activity to try and see if they can handle that for you without going to L3.

    I am not having any issues connecting by IP to WHM or the VPS control panel.

    I manually restarted all services by WHM, and all restarted normally.

    Trying a ping, nslookup or tracert from my laptop to the server by NAME were all failures.

    When you login via SSH, it needs to resolve something (I'm not sure what) so it takes 20-40 seconds to login when named is fouled up (if that's what the problem was).

    But... oh, your DNS zone was hosed for your domain, not your server?

    Sorry, I misunderstood.

    I am delighted to hear that Anoop responded more quickly than you had anticipated and that your issue was resolved. Keep in mind that techs. are not by their nature prone to pen you a reply that is personal response to your ticket. If each one did that then there would be less time to resolve issues. Here at Jaguarpc we take as many opportunities as possible to reach out to our clients. It would be a next to impossible goal to reach out personally to each and every one of our customers but when the moment does naturally arise we do like to let our clients now that we appreciate and value their choice and decision to go with and to remain with our company. We do take note of all comments and we may be looking into newer responses for our technicians. Thank you for participating here at the forums.

    Anoop is the man. Although, I am very fond of all the techs. They are very knowledgeable and helpful.
