    Lead server

I realise you guys are doing all you can and I have refrained from even opening a ticket about the server.

I also keep watching the announcements section saying you are still uploading the files after the rebuild BUT it has been down for quite a while now (yes I do know how long but don't want to make a big issue of it as JPC have been good to me over the past 6 years)

Can you give us any idea at all when you are expecting the server to be back up and running? i.e Are we looking at another 12 hours or more, or are we hoping for it to be running in the next few hours?

    Thanks for your help.

PS I am a happy client and even though we currently have problems, I've been with far worse hosting companies in the past, I am simply asking for a more meaningful update.

Rebel007 I commend you for your patience during the restore of lead.nocdirect. Our apologies that the process is taking a good amount of time. One of the reasons that we don't publish time frames is because so many variances can occur during the process. If we published one set of information for a time frame on the restore and that time frame wasn't met then many might feel as if they were incorrectly informed. The announcements section is the best place to watch for updates as you already know from your mention of it. That section is a real time update of the progress rather than a mere guess. We are aware that this can be frustrating as sometimes the restore does take time. You can be assured that if there is an update on the process it will be posted. We are always looking for ways to improve our services to our clients. It is an issue that has been addressed and I sure it will be revisited again in the near future.

Thanks for understanding that servers can fail and acknowledging that JaguarPC is doing everything that we can to restore this server to full service. It is nice to hear that you have been satisfied with the service we have provided to you for a number of years. Again, thank you for your patience and we apologize for the disruption of your service.

Feel free to ask questions and share your knowledge and advice here on our forums. Thanks for stopping by and making a contribution. We would enjoy hearing more from you.

I hate to say this but I'm starting to wonder if I will have a site worth going back to if this lasts much longer.

It is such a shame that JPC are unable to set up a fault page so when a server goes down the users are advised that there is a fault and it is being dealt with, as things are all users see is a blank page and I for one have already had a few emails from people that know my personal contact data asking if we have closed down, this from loyal members and friends who have been with me for up to 10 years!

Again I have read the apology from tech support saying they are aware this has taken too long and as I have said previously I appreciate JPC are doing there best, but after nearly 3 days I can understand why people think we have closed down and I honestly wonder whether this time we have any hope of recovering.

Sites such as mine are folding on a daily basis thanks to the social media sites such as Facebook I wonder if my sites demise is here due to JPC tech support?

If my forums are no longer viable I guess this is as good a place to say goodbye as any, I hope it isnt the end but I am starting to wonder.

Hang in there Rebel007. Our techs are doing everything they can to finish it and you will have a site when they are finished. We are working on ways to speed things up now and in the future. It is a very high priority for us because we know how important it is for you and all our other customers. Once it is finished, please check all your sites and let us know right away if anything is missing or not working.

Thanks for your reply and PM Katrina, I have no doubt JPC will eventually get my VPS back and running in time the question is will I have a site left in terms of membership when it returns? In financial terms it's irrelevant to anyone other than me, it's not commercial and never has been.

The important thing to me is my members, and any extended closure can signal the death knells of an internet forum especially in the current climate of social media sites such as Facebook Twitter MySpace and so on.

ABSOLUTELY. For many years customers have been begging for a redirect of IPs to a "down for maintenance page".
    Good luck

I understand Rebel007 though I do think forums can still hold their own against social media. I belong to several forums as well as social sites and like them for different reasons. We are still working on Lead.

Ron, your feedback has been noted.

    Moving out soon...

I think it's been more than 48 hours now and my VPS still down.
Been hoping to see some % or ETA of the restoration but no avail. Seems like I'm in the dark..

*touchwood* What if this happen again? Another long downtime?

According to JPC-Zishan all VPS were up and running about an hour ago, UNFORTUNATELY this is not the case! My VPS is still down and there has been no change in nearly 4 days!

I had tried to refrain from asking for support on here but I am now frustrated after reading all VPS's are up when they are most definitely NOT, surely it is worth checking to see if they are working before such a post especially after the length of time the server has been down!

    I have opened a ticket: 13479152

PS The server was playing up and went down on the 30th of January at approximately 10am UK time, I don't know what time that is on your time but in about 9 hours it will be 4 days and that seems excessive to say the least.

FYI, It not only doesn't respond to a web browser, it also fails to respond to an FTP package (I use cuteftp) and whilst I am in the UK and not the USA that shouldn't make any difference and should not happen, it is currently on attempt 11 on my ftp package.

I see your ticket has been taken care of, dns service was down on your vps causing downtime for websites. Please followup in the support ticket if you are still experiencing any problems on the vps.

Once again I have attempted to access my VPS but guess what, it is not working!

I have followed up on the ticket system but why is this happening, I have no access through a browser or ftp package, I cannot access virtuosso , WHM or CPanel, let alone any sites on my VPS. There is also no response from the IP address

Katrina, thanks or replying but unfortunately I am still no further along. After well over 4 days I still don't have a working forum or in fact any photo galleries and the message on my support ticket is
    Hi,
We have contacted parallels support to check it fruther. We will keep you updated.
I have no idea who parallels support are or why they should be involved with my vps, furthermore I am at a loss to understand why a basic Vbulletin site and a few coppermine galleries are so difficult to run on any host, let alone a vps such as this.

Is there anyway someone can give me an answer that actually makes sense? A few years ago when JPC were having a lot of issues Greg promised this would never happen again, if a server went down then the backups would be restored to another server to ensure there were no lengthy delays, this obviously is no longer the situation.

When I did see my site last night (UK Time) the backup was a week out of date and all the information between January 25th and January 30th was missing, yet JPC always did a nightly backup so I was told, why has so much information been lost?
