DNS host name changes...Aletianic or JPC?

Ok, this is something that has always confused me so a couple questions. I have 2 domains currently with Aletia but I believe that is owned by JPC, correct?

    1) On Aletia should I be using their DNS or a custom DNS pointed to the JPC name servers? I have been using custom pointed to ns.nocdirect.com and ns2.nocdirect.com. Could I use the Aletia default ones instead?

    2) I need to change some A-records and CNAME info for one of my domains. Do I do this at Aletia or in my JPC control panel? Both have places for it. Aletia will only allow this if pointed to the Aletia default name server thus my question above.

OR can I manage all this stuff via my JPC control panel and forget about Aletia all together other then when it's time to renew? Both domain's are standard .com

    Thanks!

    Scott

Guess I got the answer to my first question as I changed one of my domains to use the Aletia default and it then pointed to nothing other then a default ad page and my FTP no longer worked. So I've changed it back to point to the JPC name servers.

So maybe that answers my 2nd question as well, guess I need to make these A and CNAME record changes in my JPC control panel.

Still strange how Aletia and JPC still aren't really integrated after all these years.

    Hi bonscott,

At Aletia point the domains to the custom Nameservers ns.nocdirect.com/ns2.nocdirect.com and then you can update A or CNAME records using JaguarPC Control Panel (cPanel) or even you can open a ticket for this and Techs will make these changes for you. Thank you.
