    the uploading and download speed with ftp is slow

    I bought jpc vps plan recently. It tooks at least half an hour to upload a 5mb folder to the server with ftp. The speed, i would say, is slow. Its slower than the shared hosting I am using.
    How can I improve that?

    OK, its been one and half hours and the folder is still uploading.
