Question Vista SP1 RC - Anyone running it?

Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) Release Candidate (RC) has been available to the public for about 2 weeks now...

    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/win.../bb898842.aspx

    Anybody running it here yet?

I was thinking about installing it today, but I don't want to goof up my lappy...

Nope Vin, I'm not running it yet...

I haven't even really heard anything about it being released until you brought it up...

    I wonder...

If the automobile had followed the same development cycle as the computer, a Rolls-Royce today would cost $100, get a million miles to the gallon, and explode once every few weeks.

My scripts never have bugs. They just develop random features.

    Hmmm from the MS Site:

Windows Vista SP1 Release Candidate is Time-Limited software. It will no longer operate after June 30, 2008, and should be uninstalled prior to that date. Note: After installation your desktop will show the text “Evaluation Copy”. This does not mean that your system is no longer “Genuine”. It means that you have installed a test version of software which is time-limited.

I think I'll install SP1 RC, after I go to my sister-in-law's house and replace the faucets and showheads she just bought.

    LoL!

That's the problem with being able to do anything. It's a pox, of sorts...

    Bwahaha!

I went to download it, and MS said I've been chosen to participate in their Silverlight Download Center Beta program, and I fell for it.

This should be interesting! Or not...

I don't think I ever said that... not since I've pwned it anyway!

Okay, took 50 minutes to download and 55 to upgrade.

    So far, so good!

I wonder what that 'Silverlight Download Center Beta' thing was? Never saw it come up...

Silverlight is suppose to compete with Adobe Flash and more, it is basically .net on the browser level

    Aha!

So when you go here, for instance, you don't see the spectacular Silverlight presentation...

    I wonder why...

Okay, I *think* I get it. The Silverlight Download Center will allow me to download Silverlight content - something like that... or not!

Let me know how the SP1 RC goes Vin... I may install it on my desktop and tablet if it is worth it

Haven't experienced a single problem yet...
